External Wall

External insulation is a method of  insulating the external walls of a house and thereby reducing heat loss. It involves fixing insulated slabs to the external walls and then adding a layer of render to make it watertight .

The advantages of using this method of insulation are:

  • reduces heat energy loss through the external walls
  • no reduction in living space
  • can eliminate condensation and dampness
  • can improve the appearance of older buildings

External insulation grants are available through the Better Energy Home scheme so it has never been a better time to insulate your home.
